There are dragons to be found on the trek through the Bannau Brycheiniog, Wales. Also meaning leader in Welsh, red draigs, or dragons, are emblazoned on the waymarkers, guiding the brave through sharp escarpments and heathered moorlands.

After descending by the light of a headtorch, the artist painted the umbers of sullen Welsh winter, marking an impression of its fitful meteorology and honouring the country’s meandering hills.
